This is my sixth year teaching middle school language arts, and my second year at Sacred Heart. Prior to this,
I taught 7th grade language arts for four years in Boone, Iowa and then spent a year substitute teaching in Cedar Valley public
schools.

- My favorite noun is Ziggurat (which is a Mesopotamian temple tower)
- My favorite verb is Defenestrate (which is to throw
a person or thing out of a window)
- My favorite book is Dune by Frank Herbert.
- My favorite cartoon is "Scooby Doo Where Are You?"
Interesting Facts:
- I am a published poet.
- I recently completed writing my first novel. I am currently working on writing the
sequel and planning a third novel to finish the trilogy.
- I am a professional storyteller.
- I used to run a "puppet club" for elementary to middle school aged kids. We would
perform puppet shows at local libraries.
- My mother and I design and paint sets for high school, middle school, and community theater productions.
- This summer ('09) my mother and I painted the Cytower at Sacred
Heart. . . Be sure to check it out!
For the Local Sports Fans Out There:
- My husband is the voice of the Waterloo
Black Hawks. You can hear his broadcasts over the radio and internet.
- I run the B-2 internet video feed for the Waterloo Black Hawks during their home
games.
A Little Rivalry:
- My favorite baseball team is the Chicago Cubs. My husband's
favorite baseball team is the Chicago White Sox.
- My favorite football team is the Indianapolis Colts. My husband's favorite football team is the Chicago
Bears.
- My favorite Iowa hockey
team is the Des Moines Buccaneers. My husband's favorite Iowa hockey team is the Waterloo Black Hawks.
- At least we both agree on pro-hockey: The Chicago Blackhawks!
